Hi Priya,
Thanks so much for agreeing to be my maid of honour! I know I dumped a lot on you at brunch, so I wanted to follow up in writing with where things stand for the wedding.
Mark and I have booked the community hall on Elm Street for October 17th. It seats 90, which works since we trimmed the guest list down from 140 after we saw the catering quote. The hall also has a small kitchen, so we're allowed to bring in an outside caterer instead of using their in-house one, which saves us almost $2,000.
Here's where I need your help. My mom offered to make the centerpieces, but she's away visiting my aunt in Calgary until September 20th, so we can't finalize the flower order until she's back and has seen the fabric swatches for the bridesmaid dresses. Could you go with her to the florist once she's home? I trust your eye more than mine for that sort of thing.
Also, the DJ we wanted for the reception is already booked that weekend, so we're now deciding between a live three-piece band or a different DJ. Mark leans toward the band, but it's almost double the price. If you have twenty minutes this week, I'd love to hear your honest opinion before we commit.
One more thing: the seamstress needs everyone's final measurements by August 30th, or she can't guarantee the dresses will be ready in time. Could you remind Sana and Leila? I've texted them twice already and haven't heard back.
I know it's a lot, but having you in my corner makes this so much less stressful. Let's grab coffee soon and go through the rest of the checklist together.
Talk soon,
Farrah
