TEXT Text A — Fernleigh Community Centre: Autumn Programme Our autumn term runs from Monday 8 September to Friday 12 December. Enrolment for all courses opens on Monday 18 August at 9.00 am, and places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. You can enrol at reception, by telephone on 01632 960455, or through our website. New this term is Beginners' Pottery, led by local ceramicist Dawn Hetherington. The class meets on Tuesday evenings from 7.00 to 9.00 pm and costs £84 for the twelve-week term, including clay and firing. Aprons are provided, but participants should bring their own hand towel. Returning favourites include Watercolour Painting (Wednesday mornings), Conversational French (Thursday evenings) and Family History for Beginners (Friday afternoons). Full details and prices appear in the printed brochure, available free at the centre and at Fernleigh Library. Concessionary rates — a 25 per cent reduction — are available to anyone over 65, full-time students and those receiving certain benefits. Proof of eligibility must be shown at the time of enrolment; it cannot be applied afterwards. If a course is cancelled by the centre, everyone enrolled will receive a full refund within ten working days. ———————————— TEXT Text B — Get Moving at Fernleigh: Weekly Fitness Sessions Whatever your age or ability, there is a class for you in the centre's newly refurbished studio. The Main Hall holds up to 120 people and has a stage, a sound system and direct access to the kitchen. It is popular for wedding receptions and children's parties, so weekend dates are often reserved months ahead. Hire costs £38 per hour on weekdays and £48 per hour at weekends. The Garden Room seats 30 and opens onto the courtyard. It suits committee meetings, small exhibitions and yoga groups. A digital projector is available for an additional £10 per booking. The Meeting Pod is a quiet space for up to eight people, with a whiteboard and free wi-fi, at £12 per hour. All hirers pay a deposit of £50, which is returned within seven days provided the room is left clean and undamaged. Regular hirers — those booking ten or more sessions per term — receive a 15 per cent discount and priority booking for the following term. Bookings can be made at reception or by email, and a calendar of availability is displayed on the noticeboard in the foyer. Please note that the centre does not hold an alcohol licence. Hirers wishing to serve alcohol must apply to Fernleigh Town Council for a temporary event notice at least four weeks before their function.
