TEXT A — Greenford Leisure Centre — August Bank Holiday Notice Please note that opening hours across the centre will change over the late-summer holiday weekend. On Saturday and Sunday the building operates on its usual timetable, from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. On Bank Holiday Monday, however, the pool and gym close early, at 4 p.m., and all fitness classes scheduled for that afternoon are cancelled. The main reception desk will not be staffed on the Monday. Members arriving after 2 p.m. should use the automatic entry gate with their membership card; a member of the duty team can be reached by the internal phone beside the gate should any difficulty arise. The children's soft-play area remains shut for the whole of the holiday weekend while the flooring is replaced. We expect it to reopen the following Wednesday. Refunds are not offered for the cancelled Monday classes, but any pre-booked session may be moved, free of charge, to another date within fourteen days. To rearrange a booking, speak to staff before the weekend or email [email protected]. The car park barrier will be raised throughout the weekend, so parking is free for all visitors. ———————————— TEXT B — Riverside Market — Changes to Summer Trading Riverside Market will keep its regular stalls open on the Saturday of the holiday weekend, but the covered hall shuts on the Sunday and Monday so that the annual food festival can be set up in its place. Traders who normally work indoors will move to the outdoor rows near the footbridge for those two days. The festival itself runs only on the Monday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Entry is free, though a small number of tasting sessions must be booked in advance through the market office. Dogs are welcome outdoors but cannot be brought into the tasting marquee. Because the riverside lane is used for festival stalls, the usual delivery entrance is closed to vehicles from early Sunday morning. Stallholders should unload at the rear gate on Mill Street instead and carry goods across on foot. Cash machines inside the hall will be switched off while the building is closed. Visitors are advised to bring cash, as several outdoor traders do not accept cards. Lost property will be held at the Mill Street gate rather than the usual office during the closure. ———————————— TEXT C — Beechwood Library — Holiday Service Information Our doors will be closed on Bank Holiday Monday, but many services continue online without interruption. Ebooks, audiobooks and the newspaper archive can all be reached through the library website using your card number and PIN at any hour. Items due back on the Monday will not attract a late charge; the return date rolls forward automatically to the Tuesday, when the branch reopens at 9.30 a.m. The outdoor returns chute by the side entrance stays unlocked all weekend for anyone wishing to drop books off early. The Saturday children's story hour goes ahead as normal at 11 a.m., but the Monday computer-skills workshop is postponed until the second week of September. Those already enrolled will be contacted by text. The mobile library van will not run its Monday route. Villages on that route will instead be visited on the Thursday. If you have reserved a title, you will receive an email once it is ready to collect; reservations are held for a full week from the day that message is sent. The upstairs study room may still be hired by local groups while the main desk is closed, provided a booking was made at least three days beforehand. Keys are issued from a coded box beside the lift.
