TEXT A — Fernbrook Leisure Centre — Swimming Pool Timetable Our two pools operate on separate schedules, so please check which one you need before you arrive. The Main Pool (25 metres, six lanes) is used for lane swimming and organised sessions. The Learner Pool (shallow, heated to 32 degrees) is reserved for young children, beginners and gentle aqua-fitness classes. Lane swimming in the Main Pool runs every weekday from 6.30am until 9.00am, and again from 7.00pm until 9.30pm. Slower swimmers should keep to the two lanes nearest the poolside steps; faster swimmers use the far lanes. On Saturdays and Sundays the Main Pool is given over to family sessions between 10.00am and 4.00pm, when floats and inflatable toys are welcome. The Learner Pool is open daily from 9.00am to 6.00pm. Parent-and-baby classes take place on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and must be booked a week ahead. Children under eight years old must be accompanied in the water by an adult at all times. Please note the Main Pool is closed for cleaning on the first Monday of each month. Lockers require a one-pound coin, which is returned when you collect your belongings. Poolside footwear is not permitted beyond the changing rooms. ———————————— TEXT B — Riverside Gym — New Member Information Welcome to Riverside Gym. This leaflet explains what your membership includes and the few rules we ask everyone to follow. Your standard membership gives you unlimited access to the cardio suite and the weights room during staffed hours, which are 6.00am to 10.00pm on weekdays and 8.00am to 8.00pm at weekends. Group classes such as spin, yoga and circuit training are included at no extra charge, but places are limited and fill quickly, so we strongly advise booking through the app up to seven days in advance. If you cannot attend a class you have reserved, please cancel at least two hours beforehand; members who miss three booked classes without cancelling may lose booking privileges for a fortnight. A qualified instructor is on the gym floor throughout the day and will happily show newcomers how to use the equipment safely. We recommend that all new members arrange a free introductory session before their first full workout. Towels are not provided, so please bring your own. For hygiene reasons, every machine must be wiped down after use with the sprays supplied. Outdoor shoes are not allowed on the gym floor. The sauna and steam room are available to members aged eighteen and over only, and are closed on Sunday evenings for maintenance. ———————————— TEXT C — Aqua-Fitness Classes This Autumn — Fernbrook Leisure Centre Whether you want a gentle workout or a real challenge, our autumn programme has something for you. All classes are held in the Main Pool unless stated otherwise, and each lasts fifty minutes. AquaGentle (Mondays, 11.00am) is designed for older adults and anyone returning to exercise after injury. The water supports your joints, so it is ideal if you find land-based exercise painful. Held in the warmer Learner Pool. AquaFit (Wednesdays, 6.00pm) is our most popular class — an energetic session set to music that raises your heart rate and tones the whole body. Suitable for confident swimmers only. Deep Water Running (Fridays, 7.30am) takes place in the deep end using a buoyancy belt, so no swimming ability is required. It is a favourite with runners recovering from strains. AquaTots (Saturdays, 9.30am) is a playful introduction to water for three- to five-year-olds, who must be joined in the pool by one parent or carer per child. Booking is essential for every class and can be made at reception or online. The first class is free for members; non-members pay eight pounds per session or forty pounds for a block of six. Please arrive ten minutes early to collect your equipment, as classes start promptly and latecomers cannot be admitted once a session is under way.
