TEXT A — Brookfield Residents' Parking Permits If you live within the Brookfield Controlled Parking Zone, you must display a valid permit to park on the street between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Saturday. Outside these hours, and all day Sunday, no permit is required. A first permit for one household costs £65 per year. A second permit for the same address costs £110. We do not issue more than two resident permits per household. Permits are linked to your vehicle registration and cannot be transferred to another car. To apply, you will need proof of address dated within the last three months (a utility bill or bank statement) and your vehicle's registration document. Applications made online are usually approved within two working days. Postal applications take up to fourteen days, so please allow extra time. Visitor scratch-cards are sold separately in books of ten for £18. Each card covers a single day of parking for one visiting vehicle. Books do not expire and can be bought at the Town Hall reception or through your online account. Please note: a permit does not guarantee a space. It allows you to park in any available bay within your zone. Parking on a resident bay without a valid permit may result in a penalty charge of £70. ———————————— TEXT B — Keep Our Streets Clean — Mechanical Sweeping Schedule Kelvin District Council operates a rolling street-cleaning programme using mechanical sweepers. On your street's cleaning day, vehicles must be moved off the marked side of the road between 9am and 11am so the sweeper can reach the kerb. Temporary signs are placed at least 48 hours in advance showing the date and the side to be cleared. Cars left in the way during these two hours will be issued a penalty notice, and the crew will simply sweep around them — meaning your section of kerb is missed until the following month. Cleaning happens on the second week of each month. Odd-numbered houses are cleared on the Tuesday; even-numbered houses on the Wednesday. Bank holidays push the whole week's schedule back by one day. Garden waste, fallen leaves and household rubbish should not be swept into the gutter for the machine to collect — the sweeper is not designed for large piles and may leave them behind. Bag such waste and use your green bin instead. If a sign is missing or unclear on your street, report it through the council app or call the depot on 0800 114 227. Do not assume cleaning is cancelled simply because you cannot see a sign. ———————————— TEXT C — Cycle-Friendly Car Park — Tariff and Rules Millgate Multi-Storey is open 24 hours. Height limit 2.0 metres. Payment is by card or app only; we no longer accept cash at any machine. TARIFF Up to 1 hour — £2.40 Up to 2 hours — £4.20 Up to 4 hours — £7.00 Up to 10 hours — £11.50 Overnight (6pm–8am) — flat £5.00 Blue Badge holders park free in the marked disabled bays on Level 1; please display your badge clearly on the dashboard. Level 6 (the roof) is reserved for permit parking on weekdays and does not open to the public until after 5pm. Secure cycle storage is available at ground level. Racks are free, but the covered, locked cage requires a £10 refundable deposit for an access fob, obtained from the office. Electric bikes may be charged at the two marked points at no extra cost. Lost tickets are charged at the maximum daily rate of £13.00. If your app payment fails, please use the intercom at the barrier rather than reversing back down the ramp; a member of staff will help you within a few minutes. The car park is patrolled and covered by security cameras throughout. Vehicles left over 72 hours without arrangement may be removed at the owner's expense. We accept no liability for theft or damage; please lock your vehicle and take valuables with you.
