TEXT Text A — Welcome to the Harborline Maritime Museum
Welcome to the Harborline Maritime Museum
Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 10.00am to 5.00pm. The museum is closed on Mondays, except on public holidays, when we open from 11.00am to 4.00pm. Last entry is thirty minutes before closing.
Admission is free for children under five and for members. Standard adult entry is £9.50; concessions (students, seniors and jobseekers) pay £6.00 on production of a valid card. A family ticket, covering two adults and up to three children, costs £24.00 and may be bought only at the front desk, not online.
The lower galleries, which house the restored steam launch, are reached by a lift located beside the cloakroom. Please note that the rope-bridge exhibit on the top floor is not suitable for pushchairs; a supervised buggy park is provided near the café.
Photography without flash is welcome throughout the building, though tripods require a permit from reception. Filming for commercial purposes is not permitted.
The café serves hot meals until 3.30pm and light snacks thereafter. Guide dogs are welcome everywhere; other animals may not be brought inside. For lost property, please email the address printed on your ticket rather than telephoning, as the line is often busy.

TEXT Text B — Guided Tours and Workshops – Spring Programme
Guided Tours and Workshops – Spring Programme
Our volunteer guides run a free forty-minute tour of the main hall every day at 11.30am and again at 2.00pm. No booking is needed; simply gather beneath the whale skeleton five minutes beforehand. Groups larger than eight should arrange a private tour in advance by contacting the education team.
For younger visitors, the “Knot School” drop-in runs on Saturdays from 1.00pm to 3.00pm in the Learning Barn. Children learn traditional sailors' knots and take home a length of rope. It suits ages seven and above; a parent must remain in the room throughout.
The popular “Chart a Voyage” workshop, in which participants plot a historic trade route using period instruments, must be booked at least a week ahead. Places cost £12 and are limited to fourteen people. Because the tools are delicate, this session is open to over-sixteens only.
On the last Friday of each month we host an evening talk by a visiting historian. Doors open at 6.30pm and the talk begins at 7.00pm sharp; latecomers cannot be admitted once it has started. Tickets, which include a hot drink, are £8 and sell quickly, so early booking through the website is strongly advised.

TEXT Text C — Notice to Visitors: Temporary Changes This Season
Notice to Visitors: Temporary Changes This Season
Please read the following before planning your trip. Between 6 April and 18 May the west wing will be shut while its roof is repaired. The figurehead collection normally shown there has been moved to Gallery 3, so nothing from the display will be missed, but the route through the building is slightly longer than usual. Signs will direct you.
During the works, the main car park stays open, though the twelve spaces nearest the entrance are reserved for the builders' vehicles. Blue Badge holders may use the smaller car park off Anchor Lane at no charge; a shuttle runs from there to the door every fifteen minutes.
The gift shop will trade as normal, but stock is being reduced ahead of a refit, so many items now carry a discount. Gift vouchers bought before the works remain valid and their expiry dates have been extended by two months as a goodwill gesture.
Finally, the harbour walkway behind the museum is closed for dredging and will not reopen until June. We are sorry for any inconvenience. If you require a wheelchair, please reserve one when you arrive rather than in advance, as we cannot hold them; a returnable deposit applies.
