TEXT A — Riverside Community Centre — Autumn Programme Notice
Riverside Community Centre is pleased to announce its autumn programme, running from Monday 6 October to Friday 12 December. All classes are held in our newly refurbished East Wing, which is fully wheelchair accessible and served by a lift.
Enrolment opens on Monday 22 September at the reception desk, or online through our website from the same date. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, and popular sessions such as Beginners' Pottery fill quickly, so early booking is advised. A waiting list operates once a class is full; if a place becomes available you will be contacted by telephone.
Members of the centre pay a reduced rate on every course. Annual membership costs 15 pounds for adults and is free for anyone aged over 65 or under 16. Please bring proof of age when you first attend.
Refunds are given only if you cancel at least seven days before a course begins. After that date, no refund can be issued, although you may transfer your place to another person. Should the centre cancel a class because of low numbers, a full refund will be made automatically to the card used for payment. Car parking behind the building is free for the first two hours.

TEXT C — Volunteers Wanted — Community Café and Garden
Could you spare a few hours a week? Riverside Community Centre runs a café and a small kitchen garden, both kept going entirely by volunteers, and we would love you to join us.
The café is open every weekday morning and serves inexpensive drinks and light meals to visitors, many of whom come as much for the company as for the food. Volunteers help take orders, prepare simple snacks and, above all, chat with customers. Full training in food hygiene is provided free of charge, and no experience is required — just a friendly manner and reliability.
Our garden supplies herbs and vegetables to the café kitchen. Gardening volunteers meet on Monday and Friday afternoons, whatever the weather, so waterproof clothing is essential. Tasks range from sowing seeds to harvesting, and knowledgeable gardeners are on hand to guide newcomers.
We ask volunteers to commit to at least one regular session each week for a minimum of three months, so that our visitors see familiar faces. In return, you receive free hot drinks on the days you work, a small travel allowance, and an invitation to our annual thank-you supper in December. To apply, collect a form from reception or download one from our website. References will be requested before you start.
