TEXT Text A — Millgate Residents' Parking Permit Scheme Notice to all households in the Millgate controlled parking zone. From 1 September, on-street parking bays marked in yellow on the Millgate map are reserved for permit holders between 08:00 and 18:30, Monday to Saturday. Outside these hours, and all day Sunday, anyone may park in a yellow bay free of charge. Each household may apply for a maximum of two resident permits. The first permit costs 45 pounds per year; the second costs 90 pounds. A permit is linked to one specific number plate and cannot be lent to another vehicle. Visitors staying with you may use scratch-card day passes, sold in books of ten for 25 pounds. Scratch off the date and month, and display the card on the dashboard so the whole card is visible from outside. Undated or altered cards will be treated as invalid. Apply online at the borough portal, or bring proof of address and vehicle ownership to the Millgate Library desk, open Tuesday and Thursday, 10:00 to 15:00. Please allow ten working days for a permit to arrive by post. Do not park in a yellow bay without a valid permit while you wait, as enforcement officers patrol daily and issue penalty notices of 70 pounds. ———————————— TEXT Text B — SparkleWash Mobile Car Cleaning — Advertisement SparkleWash comes to you. We are a family-run mobile valeting service covering the Millgate, Hartbury and Fenwick districts, and we clean your car right where it is parked — on your driveway, outside your flat, or in your workplace car park. Our Bronze wash (from 15 pounds) covers a hand wash of the bodywork, wheels and a quick wipe of the door frames. The Silver package (from 28 pounds) adds a full interior vacuum and a window polish inside and out. Our Gold detail (from 55 pounds) includes everything above plus seat shampooing, a wax finish and odour treatment — ideal before you sell a vehicle. We carry our own water tank and generator, so we need nothing from you except a parking space we can reach. If your car sits on a public street, please check that it is legally parked; we cannot work on a vehicle blocking a driveway or sitting on a yellow line, as this risks a fine for you. We do not take card payments on the doorstep. Pay by bank transfer once the job is finished, or in cash to the cleaner. Booking is by phone or through our website, and we ask for 24 hours' notice to cancel, otherwise a 10 pound charge applies. Regular monthly customers receive every sixth clean at half price. ———————————— TEXT Text C — Millgate Street Cleaning — Information Leaflet The council sweeps every residential street in Millgate on a fixed rota so that gutters, leaves and litter are cleared regularly. To let the sweeping machine reach the kerb, we ask residents to move their vehicles off the road during their street's slot. Streets north of the railway line (including Ash Row, Beech Close and Cedar Walk) are cleaned on the first Wednesday of each month. Streets south of the line (including Damson Street, Elder Lane and Foxglove Gardens) are cleaned on the third Wednesday. Sweeping runs from 09:30 to 12:00. Temporary yellow signs are tied to lamp posts at least five days before each visit, showing the exact date and time. If a vehicle remains parked in the cleaning zone during the slot, the machine must drive around it, and that section of gutter is left uncleaned until the following month. We no longer issue fines for cars left out during sweeping; instead, we rely on neighbours cooperating. Garden waste, however, must not be swept into the road for collection — leaves and cuttings placed in the gutter will not be taken and may block drains. Bag garden waste separately and book a green-bin collection through the council website. Report a missed street within three days and we will return.
