Pumping hot water up
Naturally heated water is drawn to the surface

Separating steam
A separator tank splits the water into steam and liquid
Stage 4
Driving the turbine
Pressurised steam spins the turbine blades
Stage 5
Generating electricity
The turbine drives a generator, producing power
Stage 6
Feeding the grid
Electricity is sent to the national grid for distribution

Reinjecting the water
Cooled, condensed water is pumped back down an injection well
