IELTS Writing Task 1 (Academic)
The two maps below show the site of the Ashfield Public Library in 2005 and how the same site had been changed by 2020 after it was redeveloped into a combined library and local museum. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
In 2005
- A small single-storey public library at the centre of the plot
- A car park to the south with around thirty spaces
- Grassed lawns on both sides of the library
- A single bus stop on the main road to the east
In 2020
- The library extended to two storeys
- A new museum wing added to the north, replacing the lawns
- The southern car park reduced for a landscaped garden and outdoor café
- A pedestrian plaza linking the two entrances
- The bus stop upgraded to a covered transport hub
