The two maps below show the town of Brackenhill in 1990 and in 2020.
In 1990
- An open marketplace at the centre of the town
- A single railway station on the western side
- Farmland and orchards across the northern area
- A small river along the eastern edge, crossed by a stone footbridge
- A row of low terraced houses along the southern side
In 2020
- A paved pedestrian shopping precinct where the marketplace stood
- The railway station enlarged, with a new bus interchange beside it
- A large housing estate built over the northern farmland and orchards
- A new road bridge added next to the old footbridge
- The southern terraced houses converted into offices, with a car park behind
