Provincial health cards must be renewed every five years, or every two years for cardholders over the age of 65. To renew, bring your current health card and one piece of government-issued photo identification to any Service Centre location. Online renewal is available only for cardholders under 65 whose address has not changed in the past year. Renewal by mail takes approximately three weeks to process, while in-person renewal issues a temporary paper card immediately, with the permanent card mailed within ten business days. There is no fee for renewal unless the card was lost or damaged, in which case a $20 replacement fee applies.
