When I started my new job, the payroll office gave me a direct-deposit form to fill out so my paycheque would go straight into my bank account. I had to a blank cheque or a bank letter to confirm my account number and transit number. The form also asked me to whether I wanted my full pay deposited into one account or split between two. Once I signed and submitted it, the payroll clerk said the change would within one or two pay cycles. Until then, I would still receive a cheque in the mail.
