Read the passage and select ALL correct options. Wrong selections lose points.

Tidal energy converts the predictable rise and fall of ocean tides into electricity, offering an advantage over wind and solar power in that its output can be forecast years in advance with high accuracy. Tidal barrages, which dam an estuary and release water through turbines, generate substantial power but are expensive to build and can disrupt local sediment flow and fish migration. Tidal stream turbines, resembling underwater wind turbines anchored to the seabed, cause less environmental disruption but currently generate less power per unit than barrages. Because tidal flow reverses direction roughly twice a day, generation is not continuous, so tidal energy is usually paired with other power sources or storage systems to supply electricity during the periods when the tide is turning and flow is minimal.
