Arrange the sentences into the correct order.

Put the sentences in the correct order:

  1. If the leaves remain firm and green, the current routine can simply be repeated the next time the soil dries out.
  2. Over the following days, watch the leaves for signs of wilting or yellowing, as either can indicate that the watering schedule needs adjustment.
  3. Once the excess water has drained away, empty the saucer beneath the pot so the roots do not sit in standing liquid.
  4. If the soil is dry, water the plant slowly until moisture drains from the bottom of the pot.
  5. Before watering a houseplant, first check whether the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch.
