Re-order Paragraphs

Arrange the sentences into the correct order.

Put the sentences in the correct order:

  1. Only after the cover is firmly fixed in place is the book trimmed along its remaining edges to produce the clean, uniform pages readers expect.
  2. A stiff cover, often made of cloth-covered board, is then attached to the glued spine, giving the book its outer protection and shape.
  3. Once the sewing is complete, a layer of glue is applied to the spine to reinforce the binding and keep the signatures from shifting apart.
  4. These signatures are then stacked in the correct order and sewn along their folded spines with strong thread, holding the pages together as a single unit.
  5. Before a book can be sewn together, printed sheets of paper are folded multiple times to form small booklets known as signatures.
