NOTICE TO ALL FLOOR STAFF: Effective this month, all shift swap requests must be submitted through the online scheduling portal at least 48 hours before the shift begins. Employees can no longer arrange swaps verbally or by text message with a coworker and expect management to honor them. To request a swap, log into the portal, select the shift you want to give away, and choose a coworker who has already agreed to cover it. That coworker must accept the request in the system before the swap is considered final. Supervisors will still review every swap to make sure nobody ends up working too many hours in a row or missing required training. Swaps involving overtime pay must be approved by a manager, not just the two employees involved. If a swap is not confirmed in the portal, the original schedule stands, and staff who fail to show up for their originally assigned shift may face disciplinary action, even if they believed a coworker had taken over. Staff are encouraged to plan ahead, since last-minute swap requests submitted less than 48 hours out will usually be denied. Questions about the new process should be directed to the shift supervisor on duty.
