TeleConnect Mobile is reminding customers that phone plan upgrades ordered through the app or website now take effect the same day instead of at the next billing cycle. Previously, a customer who upgraded from a basic plan to one with more data had to wait until their bill renewed, sometimes up to three weeks, before the extra data became available. Under the new system, once payment is confirmed, the additional data, minutes, or streaming perks are added to the account within minutes. Charges are prorated, so customers only pay for the portion of the billing cycle remaining after the upgrade. Customers who downgrade will still have the change take effect at the start of the next cycle, since refunds are not issued for unused data already paid for. Staff at TeleConnect service counters have been briefed on the change and can walk customers through it in person if needed. The company says the update follows customer feedback that waiting weeks for an upgrade to activate felt unfair, especially for people who suddenly needed more data for travel or remote work. A short video explaining the process is now posted on the TeleConnect help page.
