A delivery meant for another address showed up on your porch this morning. Before you decide what to do, take a moment to check the label carefully. Courier companies increasingly deliver to the wrong unit or house, especially in apartment buildings and townhouse complexes with similar street numbers. Do not open the box, even if you are curious. Opening a package that is not addressed to you can create problems if the item inside is damaged, valuable, or fragile. Instead, take a photo of the shipping label so you have a record of the sender, tracking number, and intended recipient. Most delivery apps and courier websites let you report a misdelivered parcel directly through their help section, usually under a heading like "Report a Delivery Issue." If the correct recipient lives nearby, the simplest fix is often to walk it over yourself or leave it with the building's front desk or mail room. If you cannot identify the rightful owner, contact the courier's customer service line with the tracking number and your address so they can arrange a pickup. Keep the package in a dry, secure spot until it is collected. Acting quickly is appreciated, since the intended recipient may already be worried about a late or lost order.
