Notice to All Warehouse and Retail Staff: Shift Swap Policy Update. Starting next month, employees who want to trade a scheduled shift with a coworker must submit the request through the new online scheduling portal at least 48 hours before the shift begins. Both employees involved need to log in and confirm the swap themselves; a manager cannot approve a swap on behalf of someone who has not agreed to it online. Swaps requested with less than 48 hours' notice will only be approved if the store manager judges it an emergency, such as a sudden illness or a family matter. Staff should remember that swapping a shift does not change who is responsible if a customer complaint or cash register error occurs during that shift; responsibility stays with whoever actually worked it. Employees are also reminded that they cannot swap into overtime hours without separate written approval from their supervisor, since unapproved overtime will not be paid out. Anyone who repeatedly swaps shifts at the last minute may be asked to meet with HR to discuss scheduling reliability. Questions about the new portal can be directed to the scheduling coordinator during office hours.
