Members of Northgate Fitness Centre often ask whether they can pause their membership without losing their spot or paying full price while they're away. The answer is yes, through our membership freeze option. If you're traveling, recovering from an injury, or simply going through a busy stretch at work, you can freeze your account for a minimum of two weeks and up to three months per calendar year. During the freeze period, your monthly fee drops to a small $5 administrative charge instead of the regular rate, and your original join date and any locked-in pricing are fully protected. To request a freeze, visit the front desk or email [email protected] at least five business days before your next billing date, since freezes cannot be applied retroactively once a payment has already been processed. Freezes automatically end on the date you specify, and your regular billing resumes then unless you contact us to extend it, provided you haven't exceeded the three-month yearly limit. Members with an active personal training package should note that trainer sessions do not pause automatically and must be rescheduled separately with their trainer. We recommend freezing before extended trips rather than cancelling outright, since cancelled memberships may be subject to a new enrollment fee if you rejoin later.
