Residents of Elmwood Apartments should be aware of recent changes to how parcel deliveries are handled in the building. Because of a rise in packages left unattended in the lobby, and a few reports of missing items, the building management has partnered with a secure locker service located just inside the main entrance. When a courier drops off a package, it will now be scanned into one of the numbered lockers, and residents will receive a text message or email containing a one-time pickup code. This code must be entered on the locker's keypad within 72 hours, after which the parcel will be moved to the management office for safekeeping and can only be retrieved by showing photo identification. Oversized packages that don't fit in the lockers, such as furniture or large appliances, will still be left with the concierge as before, and residents will be notified by phone. Residents are encouraged to update their contact information with the building office to make sure pickup notifications reach them promptly. Lost or forgotten pickup codes can be resent by contacting the front desk during office hours. This new system is meant to reduce theft and make deliveries more convenient, and management will review its effectiveness after three months.
