Notice to Residents: Winter Snow Removal Schedule With the first significant snowfall expected this weekend, the City reminds residents that winter parking restrictions are now in effect on all designated snow routes. Between November 1 and March 31, parking is prohibited on posted snow route streets whenever two centimetres or more of snow has fallen, until the street has been fully cleared, sanded, and salted. Crews typically begin plowing main arterial roads first, followed by bus routes and school zones, with residential side streets cleared last, usually within 24 to 36 hours after a snowfall ends. Residents are asked to move vehicles off the street promptly once a snow event begins, as vehicles left on snow routes may be ticketed or towed at the owner's expense. To help crews work efficiently, please do not shovel or blow snow from your driveway back onto the road, since this creates ridges that are hazardous for other drivers and pedestrians. Sidewalks in front of homes and businesses must be cleared within 24 hours of snow stopping. Residents can check current plowing status and route priority on the city website's live snow map, updated every two hours during active storms. Questions about a specific street can be directed to the public works line.
